FUNDED!

Our kickstarter was successful! Thank you everyone for backing and supporting us!
Now begins the process of finalizing the game. First, a little history...
We launched The 13th Doll on Halloween 2019. Took a short break, and started work on a new project. Our goal was to create something we could finish in a year. The 13th Doll had been a 5 year project after its kickstarter, and that nearly killed us.
We learned a lot from 13D, mostly that art is hard, and a competent, dependable artist is hard to come by.
We settled on a project that required much less art. One of the ways to do so was to film as much as possible. So Chris and I(Ryan) started work writing a new project. Several ideas came and went, but ultimately illucid was what stuck as the most plausible to finish, the most fun to create, and the most palatable to our audience.
We wrote a script, then got ready to film.... and the world fell apart in March/April 2020. Two weeks to flatten the curve became 2 years and then some, and filming became an impossibility.
Early 2022, the cloud of COVID sorta lifted, and we decided to get to work with filming again. We decided that the kickstarter business model was in order. We'd film a trailer, then run the trailer on kickstarter to seek funding.

We started planning a trailer in July, wound up filming September 11th. Here's the result:
Now that the kickstarter was successful, here's our plan:
We had a plot document that was nearly finished. After the COVID hiatus, we plan to revisit that, tweak it a bit, and make it a bit less linear than it seems to be.
We'll also make a storyboarded version of the game to playtest. That should take us a couple months. With any luck, we'll be starting the planning process for filming. A lot of prep work is involved there, from finding locations, planning daily shot schedules, coordinating actors' schedules, and getting props and crew ready to go.
All goes well, we should be ready for filming late spring to early fall, then edit the footage and add in any puzzles needed. We're really aiming to get this project finished within a year. Lots to do though! Thanks again for all your support!
